The Wit and Wisdom of Shakespeare
3 Tuesdays in November 2007

“The Play's The Thing” takes a classical turn this semester with the focus on history's most famous playwright.
Delight in the pen that gave us so much laughter, so much to ponder and such inspiration. Go inside the world
that was his stage. In this exciting, entertaining workshop, professional actors will perform scenes and
monologues that bring to life the powerful and profound insights of Shakespeare, as well as the wonderfully
rude and crude wit of the master. We will see the wildly fun and witty antics between the sexes in
The
Taming of the Shrew, Midsummer Nights Dream,
and Twelfth Night, as well as the controversial scenes
between Portia and Shylock in
The Merchant of Venice, the wise advice in Hamlet, and the sad mistakes of
King Lear.
Scenes from other plays presented include Henry IV Part 1, Macbeth, and The Tempest.
